Ayinger Celebrator has to be about as close to perfect as a doppelbock can get IMO.

For me I think the beer that is good in every category and seems to quench my beer craving regardless of what I'm in the mood for is Nugget Nectar.

For a year round beer I think that SN PA is about as good as an APA gets.

Fest is probably the best american marzen I've had for the money. That was the beer that made me start re-evaluating Narragansett.

I wouldn't give it a 5 out of 5 but my favorite beer that is easy to get is Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro on draft. Love the flavor, texture and its only 5.4% abv.

I think the thread title and what the OP is actually looking for are somewhat different. Having said that, I'll answer both.

    My perfect beer:
There are beers that are perfect for my mood, or where I am, or paired with certain foods, but there's no beer that I can say is the best beer for all situations, which to me, would be the perfect beer.

    OP's actual question:
I never thought I'd like a Dopplebock as much as I did when I had Celebrator, so I'm going to lean towards that.

Closest to perfection for me is Ommegang's Three Philosophers. But, I've only just begun my tasting journey. So, there is probably something better. But, I have found a preference for the Belgians, especially quads.

It embodied everything I want in a beer. Could not ask for this beer to be any different.

I'm always in the mood for Aecht Shlenkerla Helles. It never gets old and I absolutely love it.

Celebrator Doppelbock impresses me every time I drink it.

I'd say it's got to be one of those.

Of the coffee beers I've had, Surly Coffee Bender blows everything out of the water.

Hmmm, one of the beer brands from Hill Farmstead. There are so many to choose from I really can't single one out.

    Cheers to Shaun Hill!
