Brew Cocky from 2nd Shift, TIPA from Schlafly, and Ca$h Mony & War Hammer from 4 Hands are some of my favorite IIPAs from around St. Louis.

Petoskey Hopsessed Dipa from Michigan is an under the radar gem!

For me here in upstate and central New York it has to be Middle Ages in Syracuse (you pick, depends on your taste, the Wailing Wench and Double Wench along with Jesters Nectar are personal faves) then in the Cooperstown area there is both Cooperstown Brewery (again depends on your preference) and of course the venerable Ommegang, any and all quite literally.

I've not ever heard of Galaxy at all, sounds really good. Most of Saranac's stuff (Matt) is OK, love the Legacy IPA at the Chiefs games. I really love going to the Middle Ages brewery in Syracuse for my growler fills. And Ommegang, well what can you say . . . I have been on a tour of the facility a few years ago and they've really expanded since, time to go back.

Galaxy is right down I-81 in Binghamton. Fantastic stuff all around. Both Andromeda and Galactic Nova rival/exceed the hyped offerings from bigger name East Coast breweries, but that's just my opinion.

My opinion is just that and probably not representative of the greater population, but I think Equinox Brewing's (Fort Collins, CO) Mr. Delicious Oatmeal Stout is one of the best oatmeal stouts going.

I'll take northern New England, excluding Vermont (which should be it's own region). Trillium Congress St is earthshatteringly good. Trillium's Ft Point, Melcher St, Stoneface IPA, and Maine Beer Lunch are in a four-way tie for second place and I know this because I've done multiple side-by-sides and can't pick between them. (I really like fresh IPA's). Jack's Abby House Lager is in third (this week).

I cannot be made to pick just one. If I was going to be a real dick, I'd pick something from Clown Shoes, too.

Sounds like a road trip for sure, thanks for the tip. Here's one for you . . . there's a new brewer up here in the foothills of the Adirondacks in Old Forge called Fulton Chain Craft Brewery. I haven't been yet but I will, soon I hope.

Gotta give a shout-out to a brand new brewery in Olean, NY - Four Mile Brewing. They aren't canning yet so you can only get it at the brewpub or a few taps around the area. My understanding is they plan to start canning early next year and they intend to go big so hopefully you'll start seeing them around Western NY next year. I had a flight and they were all very delicious beers but my hands down favorite is Allegheny IPA - world class in my opinion, truly one of the best if not the best IPA I've ever had!

I had Ithica EMBRRRR last year at a beer fest - one of the best stouts I ever had... never saw it again...

Saranac has put out some gems, I haven't had any in a while but some of the memorable ones were Lake Effect Lager and Big Moose Ale.

Hop House and Three Philosophers are some of my favorites... I'm about due for a Three Philosophers.

Embrrr is a seasonal rye porter, I found it to be a little spicy for stout/porter, It came out last fall, and it looks like they're set to do it again in a couple of months.

As for Saranac, their Heart of the Hop Series this past winter was a great job on their part, as are the High Peaks series. They're finally learning how to make hoppy beers

Nice, I'll look into it. I'm a fan of Adirondack and Lake Placid, hopefully Fulton Chain is able to garner some business and expand so they can start distributing

I cannot claim to have tried all the great breweries in the Southeast, especially NC breweries. So, I'll leave it to others to comment. But of what I have tried:

    Orpheus Transmigration of Souls
    Wild Heaven Height of Civilization
    Three Taverns Heavy Bells
    Burnt Hickory Ezekiel's Wheel
    Westbrook Mexican Cake
    Straight to Ale Illudium
Against the Grain Bo and Luke
    Unknown Dirty Commie Heathen
    NoDa Coco Loco
    Cigar City Maduro Brown

    ...are a few outstanding beers
