I definitely get your point but I see Two Roads as a blessing to CT craft beer. Everyone else in CT is practically Nano status and these guys came in and renovated an old factory into a world class brewery. Two Roads is able to contract brew for smaller breweries and even previously export breweries and that is very exciting. They have a solid offering of staple beers and the others I have tried I really enjoyed. I don't see them going away or anywhere but up. I think Two Roads may be one of the best things that's happened to craft beer in CT.

Did not see any posts yet for NM, so I'll throw in La Cumbre Brewing Company. As many already know, their Elevated IPA is one of the country's best, but I think you'll see some other offerings climbing the charts soon.

I get it, and I don't plan to hate on them any more than they deserve if they start pedaling crap, which there currently is no evidence to support. It's just that my Spidey sense goes off as I read their resumes (PBR, Heineken, Rolling Rock, marketing). But if they brew good beer and can use their facility to help bolster lesser-funded but highly skilled craft brewers then it is win-win-win: for their brewery, for other brewers, and for the consumer.

Now only if we could unfuck the distribution laws...

For the state of Michigan there are two breweries that I feel that are strong up and comers.

1.) Short's Brewing company- they are huge in Michigan and have great seasonal's and their year round line up is pretty solid. However, they do not distribute out of state yet to the best of my knowledge so they still have room to grow.

2.) Oddside Ales- I believe they are a true up and comer IMO. I've had three of their beers so far and all of them were great. They just started bottling beer this year and their Citra Pale Ale is the closest thing to Jai Ali that I have been able to get in Michigan.

I think Black Raven is about to blow up. They're getting ready to expand into a production facility and increase their capacity to about the same as Russian River. They have a sour program that if expanded could bring them a lot of attention. Skookum is also making some pretty tasty IPAs.

I say Swamphead because they have the capital, product, skills, marketing, etc to become the next FL brewery to go regional. A lot of smaller craft brewers that do crazy unique brews limit themselves to expansion in essence. I mean you can only go so crazy with ingredients before it starts eating into your profit margins and slows your growth potential. Not only that, but replicating such recipes on a scaled up, large brewhouse becomes problematic. That's why I left out some of the smaller guys. Establishing a brewery with a solid base lineup that can be transitioned easily throughout multiple, growing in scale, brewhouses is essential I think.

10 pages is too much to read through, so I'll risk being redundant and say:

    1. Sante Adairius
    2. Almanac

Amazing, amazing beers coming out of both those breweries. Sante's saisons and sours seriously stand up to anyone's in the US.
