I actually love Weyerbacher Oktoberfest! If anybody wants to try, Ill make sure this is "readily available" to all

If you want to meet the "German criteria" - gotta be brewed in the city of Munich, in which case Spaten, Paulaner & Hacker-Pschorr all widely available. Of the three, I like H-P best (but I like 'em all). Don't sleep on an Augustiner Marzen if you come across it! (Oldest brewery in the city & a great brew!) Lowenbrau and Hofbrau also available, although less so in my neck of the woods. Ayinger makes an excellent offering as well and they are Bavarian (just not within the city limits). It is also widely available.

If we're open to just the general category, I enjoy Victory's Festbier. Stoudt's Fest pretty good too. And Sam's Oktoberfest is a very good fall back (no pun intended) as it is ubiquitous.

For the record, I love Aecht Schlenkerla's Rauchbier Maerzen which is more and more widely available. Bavarian, but from Bamberg. Smoked beer, not technically 'oktoberfest', but nothing better with rollmops!

Would love to sample some - have to drive north to do so. I love their Dark Wheat, I just never see it below Trenton! Funny how that works - drinking draft or bottle from across the continent or world, but not across NJ!

Forgot about Gordon Biersch's Marzen because I only had it out west - haven't seen it in Delaware Valley. I enjoyed it immensely. I'm sure it's widely available out there!

Look for the Trader Joe's Josephsbrau Oktoberfest... same beer, different label!

I'm down here in Central NJ - where High Grade and Ritchie & Page are the big AB houses. High Grade still shows Lowenbrau as one their "Imports" and R&P (which, amazingly, still has no internet presence, not even one of those generic AB wholesaler websites) serviced stores in Monmouth & Mercer Counties often carry Lowenbrau Original 12 pk. bottles.

Bought it just because the other day and was pleasantly surprised, Not that I have been disappointed by anything Brooklyn has put out. Really a good take on the Marzen style. Made a little Sausage, peppers and onions on the grill with a nice Oktoberfest.
This steak still has marks where the jockey was hittin it!

If Spaten ever makes their Marzen in BROWN bottles, maybe I'd buy it. On Tap it is very good, from green bottles not so much

I have to agree with everyone else who mentioned Great Lakes. Solid beer that just feel like Autumn. I also really like NG's Staghorn, but that's not readily available.

Berkshire Brewing Company's Oktoberfest is great. It's really the only one that I drink.

I'll throw another vote in for Ayinger.

I also really like Victory's Festbier too...it's a little bit hoppier than a classic Oktoberfest, but the hops aren't overpowering.
