I just got off the phone with a guy at the Brewery in Pottsville and he said they Pre-carb at 2.7.

According to my calculator 2.7 at 38 degrees I should be around 13PSI

But he said I should "start" at 7 and work my way up and should be around 9-10....

    Any thoughts on that?

Use the chart, you will be fine. Make sure you are really at 38 liquid temp, calibrated thermometer on the second pour.

I find 9-12 works for 99% of the beer I pour.

7 psi may work if you have really short beer lines, but is undercarbing the beer. Not sure how long it would take to affect beer quality. Using the chart should be the standard. I had to lengthen my beer line a few feet in order to balance the system out. I now get great pours every time, and at the chart settings. If 13 PSI is too fast for your set up, lengthen your beer line.

This is my first time taping a lager. My flow out of the faucet is near 0... PSI is 13 Perlick faucet beer line is 10'. Not sure what to do.

I just sanitized the line and flow was fine IE: no kinks in the tower... also checked the beer line and no kinks.

My wife will kill me if this isn't ready for our bar opening party Saturday!

    Thank you!

Check to make sure the beer line isn't up against the cold plate. If you have a cold plate and the line is against it, you may have frozen the line. May also want to check to see that you haven't frozen the keg. Give it a shake and listen. If you hear slush or no sound, that's bad.

They are not, I just cleaned / sanitized the lines / coupler / faucet and the fluid flowed out the line just fine. Also the Keg (1/4) was not slushy when I moved it to clean the lines. I just picked it up from the distributor last night so I'm sure its not frozen.

What happens when you pull the pressure relief on the coupler - continuous CO2 or does it stop after a few seconds? Can you see beer in the line? Is it solid beer or are there gaps?

Little to no CO2 comes out when I pull the value, the tank is brand new (refill) and I verified before I hooked it up to the coupler that it had CO2 coming out. Its open at the top and the on / off value is in the on position... maybe the duck bill thing in the coupler is clogged?

Also there are gaps in the beer in the line.

Sounds like a CO2 delivery issue. Check the duck bill, while you have the line off check that gas is making it up to the coupler. You may also want to exercise the adjustment screw on the regulator and tap the gauge to make sure the needle isn't just stuck at 13 and you are really are applying 13.

I did adjust the screw, when I first tapped it it read 9PSI, I worked the screw up to 13... so I'm pretty sure the regulator is adjusted correctly... But I'll tare it all down this afternoon and work it till I get CO2 coming out the check valve. Then see if the issue is resolved.

Defective back flow preventer. Replaced it with a spare and everything works perfect. Perfect second pour. Checked the valve and there was no hole for the CO2 to pass through, it was solid as a rock.
