Yuzu beer?

    in a drunken moment, eating japanese food, it occurred to me that a yuzu beer could be amazing. is there one? if so what is it? if not, brewers.. please steal my idea

    New Belgium has their Imperial Berliner Weisse with Yuzu. I forgot exactly what it was called but I believe it is a part of the Lips of Faith series.

    Yup, actually pretty tasty.

    Not something I would drink all the time, but worth a shot.

    Try Westbrooks Gozu. Unreal. It's their Gose, brewed with Yuzu.... comes in bombers and draft, and a batch came out several weeks ago.

    I've been completely infatuated with Yuzu for a while now. Evil Twin makes a pale ale with Yuzu that is the best example I can find.

    I have a feeling, as cooking with Yuzu becomes more popular, that we'll start seeing more beer made with that wonderful fruit :slight_smile:

    Bridgeport does a seasonal called Summer Squeeze that is a lemon grass and yuzu ale. Its actually pretty good if you can find it on tap, but I've never had it in a bottle.

    Noble Ale Works just released a new beer called "Yuzu Messenger". It's pretty good

    Westbrook Gozu is damn fine, I like it better than Gose. Living within 10 minutes of Westbrook, it was everywhere a couple weeks ago. Now, no where to be found, except the 1 I have in my fridge. That's my wife's and she wouldn't be too happy if it went missing.

    yeah, that beer is on tap at one of my fave accounts right now. will sad to see it kick... funny, here in NY the Gose thing (Westbrook) hasn't taken off yet... i think I may have singlehandedly drank half of it that came to LI... including the Gozu on tap.
