That was my thought. Distributors can do some silly things.

I actually called the liquor store the next week and told them about the old bottles. Didn't ask for a return or anything as it is kind of out of my way, but just told them, "Hey, I bought some Zombie Dust from you last week and it tastes really old. Like, 6+ months old. Just letting you know you've got some old stock." The guy was gracious enough to offer to replace everything, but it's not really a big deal.

Buddy of mine traded 2 fresh ALpha KIngs for 2 old ZD's from some dude at the bottle shop. He was so stoked and then had to drain pour the faded ass Zombies. Talking to him afterward was like listening to that Sarah McLaughlin animal abuse commerical. Now these tragedies are a thing of the past!!!!!!

It's easy to find old ZD when shops are trying to sell individual bottles for $5, $6 or more each.

Even easier to find it at the shops that don't put it out on the shelf but leave it in the back and you must somehow know to ask for it. . .with even one case you can see how they become old.

Before they put bottle dates recently, how would one know how long the shop has had that zd in the back only for customers who ask? It's one thing to be able to walk in the store daily and see the inventory, but you have no way of knowing how old it is when it's never been on the shelf.
