Was in Chicago this past weekend and stumbled upon Zombie Dust on tap at Miller's Pub. What a very pleasant surprise. It was the FFF's rotating release tap. Damn tasty beer..

I would be interested as well. I plan to drive to Chicago and I would like to try to get a couple bottles if at all possible.

It is not meeting demand if it is gone within hours at a store or the brewery. Alpha King is barely starting to meet demand by staying on shelves for almost a week at stores.

I don't know where you are getting it, but in Chicago you can't even get Robert the Bruce for $10.99 since the distribution change. $12.99 or $13.99 is the standard FFF 6-pack price 'round these parts. So it isn't really about jacking up the price of Zombie Dust (not that a handful of places don't).

    $12.99 at Binnys today.

And Binnys is a dollar higher than us, so I guess $11.99. Fwiw. Dont really care.

It's like that in Indiana too. Cases used to cost retailers $30 now they cost $36. That is an INSANE increase for a case of six packs.

Does anybody know how many cases they usually put out per batch? Ya lately I've noticed it's off the "to go" beer by the first day when it used to last at least until sometime Friday. I'm just wondering how crazy the ZD run can get, I'd hate to see it on the website then drive the 2 hours from Kalamazoo only to have them be out by the time I get there.

As tempted as I am to break out the XY axis to plot a Supply and Demand graph, I'll save my geekery to beer only. Answer is uh...no. And no you can't drop in any old NW IN hole in the wall liquor store and walk out with your stash either. Here's the secret to acquire like the rest of us. Stalk the FFF website and wait for it to hit the Beers To Go list and be there asap. Next day it's gone.

And for price, sure it used to be $35 per case out the door along with all of FFF 12 ozers, and now it's $40. But still, $40 out the door is like a $9.25 6pack at the store. List all of the 6 packs at $9.25 that are better than ZD...

I don't think there is any problem with the pricing. It's the pain in the ass it is to acquire some....

But, but, according to the people just a few replies ago, it sells for $13/$14 a 6-pack in stores. In which case, Sculpin is right about at that price point and when fresh is just as good as ZD.

(for the record, I'm well aware ZD and Sculpin are never at the same price point, in reality)

I'm going to be the contrarian and say that for the price it's still not my favorite beer. I love the aroma of citra hops, but I find that when they're the only hop addition, the mouthfeel of the beer is a little harsh.

Care to enlighten us on what your better beer would be for under 14ยข/ oz?

I just got a six pack of Bell's Best Brown Ale for cheaper that I really enjoyed. Also Great Lakes Oktoberfest, Great Lakes Burning River... There are lots of session beers out there, don't see why everyone gets so excited for this pale ale. Just my own opinion.

Seems you might enjoy maltier beers, in which case I can really see why zd is whatever for you.
    Cheers!

Those are just the ones I most recently had. Just got a six pack of Two Hearted for a similar price, too that I also love. I'll go for Zombie Dust as well, but I'm not driving to Munster for it hoping to game the system right, hahah.
