Does anyone know of any locations in Chicago or the surrounding areas that have Zombie Dust for sale?
Many stores carry it in short supply. Bitter Pops in Roscoe Village carries it from time to time. You can see it at various Binny's across Chicago. It is definitely not something that you can easily find at one particular store unfortunately.
It's much more widely available than it used to be, but it still sells out pretty quickly everywhere. Places like Binny's and Whole Foods get a pretty solid amount, but even smaller places get at least a case or two. If you just want to drink it, you can probably find it on tap pretty easily (I'd use Beer Menus, or check places like Lone Wolf, Northdown Taproom, etc., that have it on tap a lot).
agree with the above comments. you always seem to run into it, but hard to pin point when and where that will be. I bet if you just search beer menus as mentioned or make some phone calls you could find it in no time. And being that Chicago and the "surrounding areas" is quite large, you might need to narrow down your search or be more specific on here if you want any good suggestions. otherwise you will get people saying, go to 3F all the way up to go to binnys in algonquin.
Whole Foods LP gets it every Tuesday but keep it in back. From my experiences, I've never received any attitude when asking for it.
This. Most places (Binny's & WF) get their shipments of ZD on Tuesday or Wednesday, and it'll sell out the same day. If you want bottles on the weekend, you're probably only going to find it at an overpriced local store.
and there are plenty of those. i know a place The Galleria on Southport who really takes advantage of ZD. or used to. the guy would break down a 6 and sell each bottle for like 6-7 bucks. like jeesh. im not one to complain as its his business but i lost a lot of respect. rarely go in there now.
I only go into Galleria during the Halloween trick or treat event with my kids so they can get candy. Maybe if I get enough free candy from them over the years I can justify paying their prices.
That's absurd. You should write to FFF about that place and their practice. I know a place that also breaks down their 6-packs but they will charge $3.50 a bottle, which although a lot relatively to how much you pay when you buy a 6-pack at Binny's, is more reasonable.
there's a store by me in Lisle that gets zombie almost every week, but it's $15 a six pack. If I see it, once in a blue moon I'll grab one but that's starting to push it. Bavarian Lodge has it on tap almost 100% of the time so I can get my fix there if need be.
There's a spot off the Damen blue line stop, it's just west of Damen on North Ave. Little grocery store, I can't remember the name. They have it for sale pretty often, usually single bottles though, $3ish per bottle
I know which shop you are talking about. Right by Benedictine right? I think Binny's charges $13.00 so it's not like you are getting ripped off that much.
I was talking about Malloy's on Maple..I know it's not too much over Binny's but that round $15 price point make me pause. I know what store you're talking about however, in the College Square shopping center. The gouging is noticable with things like Parabola etc..the bottle will be like $25, and they'll make you buy $10 worth of other stuff to get it. I know i'll buy a Pipeworks bomber soon enough, and if I really want Parabola etc that bad am I willing to pay another $8 for it?? But that just perpetuates the problem I know.
Any idea when on Tuesday they get it? Morning or afternoon? I'll be in the neighborhood from out of state next Tuesday and would love to get some.
I think it's a little early. Get there around lunch and you will be fine. There isn't a line or anything. 2 minutes down the street is Binny's. They also get it Tuesday mornings. Prob the best selection in the area if not state.
If that's the store I'm thinking of (in the strip mall on the west side of College), I've seen ZD there for $17.99 - AND, he tried to sell me an empty case of Bourbon County. Literally, just the box.
I guess he raises the prices when he feels like it. I bought ZD there for $15.00. Well you got Cheap Cheap Liquors in Plainfield that breaks up ZD six packs and sells them for $6.99 a bottle.
