If you paid good money for 'em, and it won't kill you, drink 'em. Worst that happens is you'll get 12 reminders to not forget you have beer lying around.

Try it for science and report back your findings.

They will be fine. Not as good as fresh but still not terrible either. Also as others have said. Do you really need validation to open a 6mo old beer. Just try it.

When you say you found them in your basement, I assume you mean in the fridge in your basement? I mean, because that's where they should have been from day one. Just saying. And just drink the damn beer already.

Just to add some data to this discussion. I got a six of Zombie Dust fresh in 02/2015. I wanted to share it with friends & family who might be visiting Madison at various times in the near future. I've drunk from four of them and enjoyed them all. The last bottle I drank a week ago, and I [that's an odd sentence construction] enjoyed it surprisingly just as much as when fresh.

Mine were kept in the fridge the whole time, without moving them at all, until opened. We just learned to live around them, the special, valuable beer in the fridge (as opposed to your cellar) that wasn't to be had without guests. (Doesn't everyone have a few of those?) So that last one I had was all crazed, which looked like shredded coconut suspended in thick simple syrup. The beauty of that beer. I'm just in awe of the thing.

I would totally chill them and open a couple of them up to enjoy.

I went to a friend's house just after New Years. They're not really beer people, and the only beer they had was Zombie Dust bottled in October. So i drank it. And it was great, because i was drinking beer with friends, talking, laughing, cooking a meal together and sharing a great time.

I guess what i'm trying to say is, life's too short to worry about it. You've got beer in the house. Sure it's not brewery fresh, but it's still beer, so drink it, cook with it, etc. Stress less about it
