Very true and thanks for the thought! So you are right, if they don't have it at the closest place, it could end up quite a bit longer trip. I'll probably still go though...

 

Also, I seem to remember reading somewhere that citra hops are rather difficult to brew with.

 

I'd love to get more of this for my birthday coming up in April. Easily one of the best beers I've ever had. Have two 2011 BCBS sitting around and a Big John if anyone is interested.

 

I think I'm going to make the trip out there from eastern PA in May. So I'll definitely be calling ahead.

Question though, how long does ZD stay pungent? I had a 6 pack and drank that over the course of a couple weeks with no drop off, but if I tried to get like 2 cases I'm wondering how quickly I'd have to drink those.

 

Sorry to disagree but until the middle of last week ZD was available at the brewpub for about a month and a half straight. They put out a small batch at the of mid to late January. They were out for a few days and then from the very end of January until last week it was available again. By the way just checked the tap list and it's available to go again as of yesterday.

My wife had no problems scoring a couple of six-packs in Chicago Tuesday. I know at least one keg has made into Milwaukee, saw somebody was drinking it at the Landmark 1850 Inn. So maybe they're starting to catch up to the demand somewhat (and I mean just a tiny bit).

 

Just got a couple of 6 pks in Suburbs today you just have to call your local beverage center

 

Agreed, I loved making the drive from Ann Arbor to Chicago when I lived in MI. Plus you'll be drinking some killer beer by days end- win win situation.

 

Sorry I hadn't realized they upped their production. When I was first buying it by the case load at the pub it was maybe once or twice a month they had it. I checked last week and nothing, and then I went to the pub yesterday and it was in stock. I didn't realize it had been in stock so much lately. Good to know!

 

Sitting In FFF as I write this, and they just ran out of zombie dust. O the irony.

at least they had it on tap! got some in chicago, although not much, and it was a pain driving in there.

 

Where is the nearest place to Pittsburgh to score a case?

 

It's only available at the brewery or in bottle shops in Chicago. But none at the brewery right now, and it's difficult to find in Chicago.

 

I called the brewery last Thursday, they had ZD in stock. An hour later when I got there they were out. They said they plan to have a new batch in the next week or two. Got home and found it at a local shop but paid an extra dollar a bottle for the case.

 

I saw one keg in Louisville and it went fast.

 

1 of 10 stores in Illinois? You're Glunz guy is not telling the truth. I can find about 10 stores in Chicago proper that get it. Not that it stays on shelves long.

 

I've seen it at Whole Foods Lincoln Park (the huge one). They get their shipments in on Mondays and Fridays.
