"BierCraft is proud and honoured to have been chosen as the location for this years Zwanze Day tapping and celebration. We will be celebrating this year with a beer pairing dinner. Join us for tapping and tasting of this years Zwanze beer at 6pm followed by a 5 course beer pairing dinner featuring 2 more Cantillon beers on tap, along with beers from Brasserie de la Senne, Dageraad Brewing and finishing with "best beer in the world" Westvleteren 12. This dinner will be expertly paired by our executive Chef, Stephen Chadband and our Certified Cicerone, Don Farion. Adam Henderson, also a Certified Cicerone and owner of Copper & Theory, will be on hand to talk about the beers and answer any questions you may have.

Don't miss this once in a lifetime dinner; you will drink from one of only 3 kegs in Canada, and try one of the rarest beers in the world, Westvleteren 12. all in one seating.

Only $125 per person, very limited seating, do not wait.

Call 604-874-6900 to make your reservations" https://www.facebook.com/events/1471061536480023/

I've got nothing to do with running it this year. Nice to see things changing up, hopefully it's different every yr, keeps it interesting (although expensive).

I remember that the raffle format for last year's Vancouver Zwanze was a source of consternation for some of the BAs here on the Canada board. Is this new format really what you wanted?

This is EXACTLY what everyone was hoping for. I was personally hoping tickets would be in the $300-$400 range!

Think Copper and Theory really tried to make the event better than last year. $125 for an evening out of special beers and a dinner is not that bad. Heard the Zwanze Day at Bar Volo sold out in minutes.

I don't think it's a bad deal either. The price point just excludes some and that's pretty unusual when it comes to beer ...for the most part anyways. I get that they want to make it exclusive and all, it is a pretty exclusive beer.

I would have gone with something like $50 tickets, 3 decent Cantillon servings and maybe some appies floating around and the option to buy whatever else. Save the westy's for another event.

The Zwanze Day I attended in Brussels some years ago wasn't even that, everyone got one one glass. The crowd included Vinnie from Russian River, Greg Koch from Stone, four members of Van Roy family and the list goes on.

Yeah, I think that's probably the middle ground isn't it. Announce ticket sale timing well in advance, knowing that they will sell out in 2 minutes, and do it that way. I appreciate the sentiment and know that whoever organizes this is basically damned if they do and damned if they don't, but there's a middle ground in here somewhere.

I would love to try the beer, but... not at that price. Plans are afoot for a ghetto zwanze day where we'll blend iris and kriek into jugs and drink that instead.

    Cool story bro.

I am still not sure why people hated the ticketed raffle last year, it was fair and the raffle evening was fun.

Seeing Grandpa Van Roy fight through the crowd for one glass of his own beer was a little strange.
