as always it comes down to they charge what they feel is market price and as consumers we can choose where we spend our dollars. As long as some consumers are happy then the current model will thrive.
TBH these days I spend most of my outside drinking $ in either Oxbow Portland or Hill Farmstead's taproom,

So what's the deal with novare res? Do people start lining up really early to get the tickets? If you don't get one can you still get into the bar? Anyone who has been before have any more details?

People will line up but the line won't be crazy. In the past they have not run out of tickets for Zwanze pours even right up until the time of the pour. Best thing is you can get your ticket and leave and come back as you please. No tickets required for draft or bottles of Cantillon. Expect probably Gueuze and Rose on tap, as well as a small handfull of very expensive bottles of other Loons which will go very quickly after open.

Anyone interested in uber pool to Canton on Saturday from Cambridge/Somerville?

Would probably be game for opening some post-Zwanze bottles too and can host.

For those heading to Zwanze at Novare Res, and those local in Portland, I'm going Saturday and Sunday. What would be my best bet for checking out breweries and Zwanze?

I figure cans at Bissell are out, because Zwanze is noonish to late afternoon on Saturday. My plan might be Zwanze until the toast or so, then head over to Bissell just to visit (my buddies haven't been to the new location).

Then Sunday hit up Allagash, Foundation, and Austin Street. Maybe throw Oxbow in there since it's right in downtown.

    Plan of attack was roughly...

    Saturday:

10:00 am - 3 pmish: Check in early morning, hit up Holy Donut, head to Novare Res. Maybe hit up Thirsty Pig after getting tickets.

3 pm - Dinner: Hit up Bissell

Saturday Evening: Slab maybe, then go bar hopping to Mash Tun, Little Tap House...etc., wherever really. Maybe King's Head for dinner and drinks.

    Sunday:

Hit up Allagash/Foundation/Austin Street in the afternoon

Maybe Forestreet/Eventide depending how busy they are, or if we go to one of them Saturday for dinner.

Would love to catch the Pats game somewhere, maybe at King's Head, but that would cut into a large part of the afternoon and diminish any chances of brewery hopping with the early closings on Sunday. Unless Bissell has TVs for a game? I don't remember from this past summer.

I figured as much, I wasn't expecting there to be. honestly after 20 ounces of lambic I'm probably about good anyways. maybe I would have wanted to split a bottle but not if it was gonna cost $40+ so I'll be happy to have the included Loons, the Trillium Wilds, and the Trillium IPA's, and whatever else they cook up

Missed out on tickets to Armsby. Might head up for brunch, anyone hear of the tap list indoors this year? Not sure if they are just pouring lambics outdoors. Either way, cheers to all attending!
