I have no problem with other people paying these prices, but I will not. I completely agree with you. I can get a lot of great beer for $60. A 750ml bottle of ABT12 and Saison DUPont, plus a six pack of Founder's Porter, a 12 pack of SN Octoberfest, and a 12 pack f SN Pale ale for 60 bucks....

$10 for the glass is more like it and there's a t shirt, so call that $20. Beating a dead horse now, but I just don't get why these aren't available to be purchased rather than a requirement to drink a beer. Armsby doesn't screw people on beer prices (hell they lowered them on Zwanze last year) so I wouldn't expect to be hosed on beers in the tent.

I'm glad people are upset about this like I am. I went to Armsby last year and was hoping that a ticket system would guarantee a private event (not semi private like this actually is) allowing ticket holders full exclusivity to the venue and the amazing tap list. Making people pay 60 bucks for one pour, oysters that you can get 3 for a buck and waffles that are cheap to make is shameful. The space issues haven't been solved and Armsby's gameplan makes them look greedy and inconvininced by this whole event which is supposed to be an amazing honor. If you want to do a private event, make it fully private. Doing this "in between" thing doesn't make them look good at all.

My initial impression when learning the logistics of the Armsy plan was shock, like many of you. I attended last year with some friends and was there for a good portion of the afternoon leading up to the pour of the Zwanze. It was extremely disappointing for many reasons, of which I'll spare you the details. Nevertheless, the so-called solution to 2015 doesn't seem much better. $65 (don't forget that Evenbrite fee) is far better spent on 16 pack of Tree House.

My buddies and I plan on trading for a bunch of Cantillon stuff and doing our own Zwanze party. We will likely get way more beer. Cheers all!

Was just pointed out to me that the T shirt is not included. So, the pricing makes even less sense. Crazy to think that Trillium's $100 price tag now seems like an OK deal?

That is indeed a bit steep. I put my trust in all things Armsby though, they haven't let me down yet. Interested to hear about it from those who attend.

It goes to profit. Which is fine. These are businesses who need to make money. If you don't want to support them, that's ok, this here America! But I fully support their right to charge whatever they feel is right for them.

(Particularly for an event that will sell out in minutes...if anything Trillium undercharged)

Was thinking the same thing. My friends and I passed up Trillium for Armsby. Shouldn't have done that :/

Guess that depends on how many oysters you eat.

Turning it into an oyster eating contest could be fun...first prize could be a bottle of Cantillon

Ah, and now the master plan is coming to light...

True, but many of these bars and breweries monitor, and even participate in these threads. In fact, there's a lot of constructive conversation, and they either explain their pricing or adjust accordingly.

In a way, it's customer service, and even if someone replying in this thread isn't going, it could go a long way towards making them want to visit/return to that establishment. Think of the forums as one giant "comments box" at a restaurant.

Sure, that one event sells out in minutes at that price. But if it gives a customer pause to visit/return to your establishment, in the long run that will cost a lot more than $100.

Of course you don't want people leaving with the feel that got ripped off. 100%. I'm sure Trillium feels the same.

But look a lot of what you pay for here is access and the exclusivity of being one of the lucky few to attend. I think this is why when people run the #'s it looks odd. But most people get that when demand far, far outstrips supply, prices go up.

This is going to sound super greedy I suppose, but does anyone know if we're able to purchase additional "beer vouchers" at the Trillium Zwanze Day event?

    Their description states:
"Additional beers will be available for purchase throughout the day!"

do we think that means "you can use your 5 allocated vouchers on beers other than Cantillon Zwanze 2016 throughout the day" or does it mean "you can purchase additional vouchers throughout the day" (I'm leaning towards the latter meaning considering the use of the word "purchase")

Regardless, going to be fun, looking forward to it.

    I think you're overthinking it

    - (5) Beer Vouchers redeemable for 5oz. pours of various Cantillon styles including the worldwide Zwanze 2016 toast
    - Additional beers will be available for purchase throughout the day!

That means you can use your 5 vouchers for Cantillon and then pay as you go for other stuff
