Just curious how Zwanze day went at Biercraft this year. I'm considering setting up a vacation next year to attend, and have a few questions.

    1) How do they handle it? First come first served?
2)How soon did people start lining up?
    3)Ridiculously packed?
    4)Any bottle sales?

    Thanks for the help!

    1. No cost reservation system, there were 12 spots available every half an hour from 12-12:30. They announced it on social media about a month in advance, seemed to take about 7 or 8 hours for all of the spots to fill up. After 3PM they let those without reservations get in on the Zwanze keg as well, lots left over.
    2. Didn't see a line all day
    3. No, restaurant was about 3/4 full at any given time when I was there.
    4. St Lam and Vig for drink in at 15% off their regular price, came out to around $50 a bottle. Iris on tap.

Yep, what @Beervana said. Super relaxed and fun. Those with spots at the 12pm timeslot were politely asked to leave at 2pm to make room for those with those timeslots, but were welcome to hang out and come back in at 3pm. The majority of the bar was unaware Zwanze was even happening, was a great relaxed vibe. And, er, I don't believe the keg of zwanze even tapped completely until the next day

They were also selling awesome zwanze t-shirts for $20 each, and had some hilarious bright pink temporary tattoos they were giving away with this artwork on it (potentially very mildly NSFW). If this is the future format for Zwanze days in Vancouver, I'd wholeheartedly recommend popping down for it. Very social atmosphere, I believe most folks ended up afterpartying at Steel Toad too (*cough* @JonnyBeers).

The only other thing of note was there was also Tilquin on tap, and Grand Cru... but not Iris Grand Cru, hilariously, instead a beer from Bomber called Grand Cru. To which... reception was somewhat mixed! In any case, great time. I hope this is the future format of zwanze days in Vancouver, even if I doubt it'll be as quiet next year - but very happy to have been a part of it and will continue to attempt to attend.

Heh, I dunno if it was as good as our ghetto-zwanze share last time but close

Crazy how low-key it was, especially considering Cantillon bottles dont even last a day around here anymore. I believe someone I know went and had it the next next day even.

Plenty of options for drinking afterwards too, Peche Mortel Nitro and a crazy good farmhouse double IPA at Steel Toad made for a great night!

Sounds awesome. Thanks for the replies! Good chance Myself and a couple of others will be heading down for it next year (hopefully there won't be any problems with registration, though it doesn't sound like there would be). I assume the registration was done online?
