    Hi all,

So I'm turning 40 on Zwanze day, couldn't think how to celebrate then I thought of this! I've been to RR for Younger and done the line. My question is how crowded do you all think it will be and what time would I need to get there so my wife, son, and I can get a table?

    Cheers,
    Dave

A Saturday at RR will be crowded. Not like Younger week, but crowded. I would try to get there at 11:30, if you can do that you'll probably seated almost right away. If you go after noon, the wait will probably be anywhere from 30-90 minutes. That's my sense of it anyway. Maybe somebody from Santa Rosa can chime in.

I wouldn't be surprised if the turnout was almost similar to younger. I'm sure there will be a line early. They open at 11, so I'd say grab a coffee get there at 10 just to be safe? It definitely helps being part of the first wave of seating... but this is just from experience with younger.. not sure how they'll be doing zwanze day

Never been to a Zwanze Day at RR. That being said, I have been to numerous bottle releases there and it's always nice to go pretty early. I don't know if they will be opening earlier than 11, but if I go I'll probably get there around 8:00.

I googled images from previous Zwanze Days and it looks like any other release. Like the others have mentioned, show up earlier.

Too lazy to dig them up, but I recall people saying it was somewhat relaxed there last year, which I found surprising. Still, with the way Younger went down, I would expect the safest bet to be there a little before opening. Lining up at 2 AM is ridiculous.

Welp, I just realized that my trip to RR happens to be on Zwanze day (yay me for not paying attention to dates). So this should be enjoyable, since brewpub opens at 11 I assume getting there like around 9 with a coffee and parking my ass on the ground playing like Set or Fluxx would be a good thing yeah?

Never been to the brewpub before and now I get to, on basically a release day.

To other BA members that will be there, if you want to not be as bored waiting in line, find the guy and girl playing card games that make no sense and join us.

I went to Zwanze at RRBC last year - it was FAR less crowded than PTY and Beat releases. It was easy to get in and plenty of pours of cantillon. No need to make this a crazy thing.

Thanks for all your thoughts! I'm guessing we'll aim for 10ish so my 5 year old doesn't go too crazy.

Does anyone know if they only serve Zwanze or will they have other Cantillon? How about the possibility of the Cantillon-RR-Allagash collab making an appearance?

I want to say I saw a list of what pours are included but now I can't find it. I remember seeing a few different flavors were included. I highly doubt the collaboration will be there but that would be pretty awesome if I'm wrong.

First off, thanks for the info from everyone so far. Super helpful.
Also, two more practical questions for people that have been to any release there -
Do you queue in front, eg on the sidewalk not in the parking lot?
Second, is bottle sharing etc not kosher since we're just on public property while queuing?

    Thanks. Pretty excited for this.

Haven't been to Zwanze at RR, but for other releases you line up in the front, not the parking lot. Bottle sharing is not allowed.

Outside at 930, about 30 ppl in line already. Server came around staying that tickets for zwanze would be handed out starting at 1015 to those in line in order to make sure everyone got a taste. If you are bored in line we are playing some card games to pass the time

Forgot today was Zwanze Day at RR as well. Was thinking about stopping by for a glass of Erudition on the way back from the Freemark Abbey harvest fest, but I'm assuming today's not the best day for that.

Oh well, will be down next month as well... maybe it or something equally interesting will on offer then.

I don't drink any styles other than Ipa (which I think RR fails at) but are the other RR styles as hyped up as pte and Pty?

Drinking beat off tap. Bringing at least a 6 Pk of blind pig back to San Diego with me, and probably hoarding up on a couple cases of their sours to bring back as well. And about to order some pliney bites.

To the poster above me about ipas. Their blind pig is quite good, just can't get outside of brewpub anymore.

Yeah, then I got nothing else for you for RR. They made something good years ago and never changed the recipe, because why break a good thing?

If looking for ipa, alpine Nelson is beyond a solid choice.
