Got tickets to Green Bench. Bottle shares will be allowed as long as we clean up and share with tbe bartenders

Playalinda has said no bottle shares due to licensing and they looked into a temporary license to allow bottle consumption on premise but has said it is not an option due to their current licencing.

Hopefully that changes for the folks going there and Green Bench does not change their mind. Going to be a great day! See you yall there for some great beer.

Where did they announce that? There is no outside licensing needed for someone to consume their own alcohol. You don't even need to have a food and beverage license for people to consume their own alcohol.

Sent them a PM on facebook after tickets were being sold and asked if bottle shares were allowed. They said this "Under Florida State Law (statute 562) it's illegal unless the beer is a Florida beer with proof of taxes paid in Florida."

Not yet publicly announced, so I'd just bring them anyway. Hope for the best.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't understand wanting to bring bottles to a bar or brewery's beer event. The event is for a specific beer and brewery. I guess if you're bringing a different vintage of what's being offered, that kinda makes sense, and sharing while waiting in line makes sense (a la JWB events). But otherwise? Just organize a bottle share on another night, or a share after/before the event.

I think the main reason people like shares at big events like this is that they get to socialize and meet more people through the beers that they brought. If you organize a share before/after it is most likely going to be with the people you normally share with. It's also just part of the tradition of Zwanze Day from RLRL. Always a big share there with people bringing all kinds of bottles.

I have a ticket for Green Bench, and happen to be friends with an employee, and per their words there will be a pretty awesome bottle share. So if an employee is encouraging a bottle share, I'm definitely joining.

Glad I got a Playalinda ticket. I'll bring a few bottles in the event sharing is allowed and if not, I'll enjoy my pre-paid pour of Zwanze, buy a few other Cantillon's on draft, try out a house beer or two, and then head back home.

Agreed. The other factor for RLRL was the fact that you didn't need a ticket to be there and the ticket for the Zwanze pour was cheap. Having a $90 event like GB, I'd be more inclined to take advantage of the free unlimited pours available.

I will most definitely be trying to take advantage of my free pours, but plus a bottle share, that bike ride back to the hotel sounds a little more difficult. Considering you get the obligatory T-shirt & Glass, and a mystery take home bottle, its not THAT bad.

I should have said "prepaid" pours.

Haha, yeah, it just amused me. I'll be over at Playalinda since it's about 20 miles from where I live, and I'm hoping the pours aren't too expensive. I'd probably rather pay up front for unlimited pours, but it is what it is.

No Zwanze for me though, it basically sold out instantly.

Wait, so at Playalinda you need tickets to Zwanze or just tickets for the pour of the Zwanze day beer? Last I heard we don't need tickets to Zwanze day at Playalinda, we just show up.

For Playalinda, You do not need a ticket to be there. You will only need a ticket to receive the commemorative glass w/ 5oz pour of Zwanze.

All of the draft offerings will be offered to all at a first come first served basis.

Keep in mind that each location only receives one sixtel(5 gal.) of Zwanze.

Major factor as to why I decided to go to Playalinda. I wanted a more substantial pour of the namesake beer.

Playalinda stated 5oz pours - 100 tickets sold
    vs
Green Bench who didn't state an exact amount, just that there is a tasting at 3pm - estimated 2-2.5oz pours - 200 tickets sold

Either way, I have a feeling both events will be awesome.
