Yeah, but for Beat bottles, not Zwanze.

Rather than drive 80 minutes round trip to Bagby's to pay $2/ounce for mostly shelf loons, I opened a Fou' Foune with some friends and had our own Zwanze toast. No regrets haha.

What are these "shelf loons" you speak of?

To me, it was a fun trip to Bagby. I picked up my Alesmith reforged stuff and the stuff pouring there was, except for one, out of kegs. So hey, different experience than just paying so much for pours from bottles. The environment was very chill and getting extra pours of this year's zwanze was nice. I had a blast.

Zwanze at Russian River was a good experience - got there at about 10:30 am (30 minutes before open, hour and a half before Zwanze was getting tapped) and got in by 11:30 with no problems. Got try everything I wanted with no hassle, and even got to try the Friendship Blend! It was pretty balanced, but it did sour up a bit more according to others who have had it before, the funk was pretty subtle on it.

Pretty annoying how things kept changing at Trappist, so anyone at the front bar got everything and everyone at the back bar got screwed. They didn't sell bottles at the back bar until at least 30 minutes after the front bar started, so they were out of some main wants by the time we got a chance to buy them. Then, the front bar started selling to go, and by us in the back found out, basically everything was gone. I enjoyed the event and the bottle prices seemed quite fair given what they had. I just wish they would have had their shit together.
