Following up on the 'name that flower' thread, I just started drinking my Zythos IPA. I bittered with northern brewer, added an oz. of Cascade at 20ish, 2 oz. of Zythos around 8ish and dryhopped with 1 oz. of Zythos in the keg.

I brewed about 5 weeks ago. It is just becoming drinkable.

I was anticipating flowers and citrus, just because everything is flowers and/or citrus these days.

Instead, I get dirt, black currents, blackberries, and cold tea. It's much more a growl than a song.

It's tasty but it's requiring me to reset my palate from my typical cascade/citra pale ales and stouts w/ willamette.

it's been 2 years since i did a zythos ipa, but my tasting notes said "herbal & citrus"...so guess kind of what you were thinking. It was definitely not a favorite, but definitely not a drain pour and something I didn't repeat. Maybe you want more dry hop...?

Could be the Northern Brewer, too. I single hopped a Cali Common with NB that was really weird

Use mosaic and citra I use zythos in my double ipa and it works well with that combo
