Where: The Hartstone Inn, Camden, Maine
The Hartstone Inn, a world class bed & breakfast situated in scenic Camden, ME, in conjunction with McKean & Charles, midcoast Maine's largest purveyor of fine beer, wine & spirits, will be hosting an "Autumn Food & Beer Pairing Event" on Thursday, October 18th at 7:00pm. Chef de Cuisine and Inn co-owner Michael Salmon, fresh off an invitation to cook for the James Beard Foundation just weeks prior, will be pairing his innovative, award-winning cuisine with some of the best ales & lagers (supplied by Mariner Beverages of Portland, ME) of their respective styles available anywhere in the world. The resultant pairings will push the traditional boundaries of fine dining to new heights as each guest will enjoy seven unique courses, each carefully paired with (and in some instances prepared with) outstanding beers of all styles from all over the world:

Welcome Tasting: Vermont Brie baked with Gavroche and Hazelnuts, served with Toasted French Peasant Bread. Pairing: St. Sylvestre Gavroche Biere de Garde (France)

Appetizer Duo: Zucchini and Fennel Grilled Tiger Shrimp with a Spicy Lemon Aioli. Pairing: Thomas Hooker Munich Lager (Connecticut, USA)

Fall Mushroom Duxelle with a rich ale reduction and Toasted Oak Leaves. Pairing: Inverlalmond Blackfriar Scottish Ale (Scotland)

Salad: Baby Spinach with Cumin-Roasted Pears, Maytag Blue Cheese and Dry Salami tossed in a Honey-Walnut Dressing. Pairing: Fantôme Saison (Belgium)

Fish Course: Prosciutto and Spinach Wrapped Mahi Mahi Fillet with a Tropical Fruit Beurre Blanc. Pairing: Monchshof Kellerbrau (Germany) & Clipper City Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA (Maryland, USA)

Intermezzo: Maine Blueberry Sorbet. Pairing: Eisenbahn Lust Biere de Champagne (Brazil)

Entree: Phyllo-Wrapped Double Lamb Chops with a Grand Cru Reduction and Celeriac Puree. Pairing: Southampton Grand Cru Belgian Strong Pale Ale (New York, USA)

Dessert: “Sticky Toffee” Date and Fig Pudding with a Caramel-Quadrupel Sauce and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Pairing: Stuise Pannepot Quadrupel (Belgium)
