Mike Lata/Westbrook Brewing Beer Dinner
Lupulo is pleased to welcome some of South Carolina’s finest for our first beer dinner of the new year: James Beard Award winning chef Mike Lata and Westbrook Brewing! Chef Mike has been at the forefront of Charleston's culinary revival with his farm-to-table restaurants FIG and The Ordinary. He and Lupulo's Michelin star chef George Mendes have collaborated with Morgan and Ed Westbrook on this four course family-style menu:
First Course
-Phat Lady Oysters, Meyer Lemon Mignonette + Fresno Chile Hot Sauce
-Chicken Liver Pate, Pickles, Beer Mustard + Charred Bread
-House cured Linguica sausage and Guanciale
-Island Creek Oysters, Piri-Piri Dressing
Beer Pairing: Mr. Chipper
Second Course
-Braised Carolina Gag Grouper, Capers Inlet Clam w/ Saison Nage, Mustard Greens
-Fennel and Turnips cooked in wood fire, sweet smoked paprika and garlic
Beer Pairing: Brett and Mo' Mices
Main Course
-Aged duck cooked on the rotisserie w/ beer + honey glaze, pickled persimmon jus
-Carolina Gold Rice Grits with Red Pea Gravy
Beer Pairing: Dark Helmet
Dessert
-Sticky Sorghum Pudding, Bourbon BA 4th Anniversary Ice Cream
Beer Pairing: Bourbon Barrel-Aged 4th Anniversary
