Yes violette means purple and you can easily see why. This flavored beverage is overly sweet, taste somehow artificial and is overal watery. Pass your way

A sort of purple brown clear filtered colour, a little carbonation. The 2 fingers of white head fade to nothing fast.

Skunk, flowers, liquorice as in red twizzlers and liquorice root, sweet and fruity.

Cough medicine, liquorice, fruity cough drops, slight floral notes as well.

Light watery body, moderate soda like carbonation.

Drank August 17th, 2015. Found Chiang Mai. I like that they are experimenting with local ingredients. It is a unique beer, just not overly awe inspiring.

Very clear beer with a yellow/purple color.

The smell is mainly that of violets, covering everything else.

The taste is sweet (maybe too sweet) and seems like more a panache or a soft drink than a beer.

Maybe the best use of it is for drinking after dinner while eating desserts.

Had this beer at a beer festival in Montreal. Four ounce pour into a tasting glass.

A-yellowish purple, light looking and very clear.

S-definately floral, grassy and violet.

T-sweet and berry like, kind of like thin pancake syrup.

M-sugary, light

D-Not a great beer but worth a try. I would not want this as a session beer (fear of getting beat up). However, really who is doing anything with wild flowers? Try it at least to expand your horizons.

Beer (?) with violets and "airelles" (a kind of red berry, it seems, maybe bilberry).
Green color, tending to yellow. Quite ugly white head.
In the smell, a lot of violets perfume, very sweet, artificial. Hints of anise.
The taste is very sweet and artificial, too, sugary, violets. It seems a violet candy, and not good.
It's not a beer.
Disgusting.
