Thanks to woodychandler for the trade. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, malts. Taste is good, malts, a bit sweet, good flavor. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this is a good quality beer.

KB Genuine Draft pours a bright yellow with no real head. The aroma is pale sweet malt, very light on the graininess I expect with this type of beer. The flavor is relatively full bodied and with some nice light sweet honey malt character. There is just a bit of bitterness and a clean finish. This is marketed as "just over a buck a beer", and is about as cheap as you can get in BC. I'd say it's a pretty decent value, it's nothing special, but the quality hasn't suffered due to the price.

Another CANned beer from CANada in support of the CANQuest! How long CAN this continue?
I got a finger of foamy bone-white head off of the pourwhich held in reasonably well on this humid evening. Color was a slightly hazy lemon-yellow. Nose had a good lager-like sweetness, quite malty, actually. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full with a slight honey sweetness on the tongue. Finish was very smooth with a lingering honey/malt sweetness. I liked this as an alternative to all of the AmeriCAN Adjunct Lagers that I have drank recently, but it still was not cooler compelling, if that makes sense. Not bad, but not not worth any extra effort.

KB Genuine Draft is marketed as "Just Over a Buck a Beer" in Liquor Plus outlets ($26 for 24). It sells like hotcakes and is pretty inoffensive, intended for a wide audience. It is a bit too sweet for a lengthy session. But what's with the persistent protein haze? This ain't supposed to be a wheat beer.

This is what I would term 'honey lager' - a peculiarly sweet style that while common in the States, seems to prevail in Canada.
The appearance is straw yellow, with a short lasting white head, which quickly fades to a patchy film, but doesn't leave any lace. Sweet honey aroma and very little else. Taste upfront is very sweet, with a pleasant honey character. There are some pale malts thrown into the mix and a very mild hopping, but this is a fairly one-dimensional beer. The body is medium light, and the carbonation is thankfully not too high for the style, and stays in a pleasing range. The simplicity of flavour makes it very easy to drink, and would be a nice accompaniment to a summer's day.
Its not going to turn heads, but for what it is its a nice enough drink, and a far better alternative to similar brews from larger companies.
Thanks BigBry for sending this one to T.O. It made a good afternoon refresher!
