Consumed at the brewery August 30th, 2011.
Beer is a clear light gold with a small but sticky white head; essentially the same as the same brewery's wheat beer.
Aroma is pure sweet apricot concentrate.
Flavor is all apricot, all the time. There is a significant hop bite to this that makes me think this not the old formula apricot wheat but is closer to their Woodshed Blonde. Anyway, the only flavors are overbearingly sweet apricot and a crisp bitterness. Well, at least it's easy to drink.
Medium mouthfeel.
Can't say anything nice about this beer except that it was not hard to finish.

This is in fact a wheat beer but the predominant flavor and aroma is entirely of apricot. Also, the menu had a typo and said this beer is 65% abv so I'm assuming that its 6.5%. It poured a nice pale wheat ale color in the glass. It had kind of an orange glow to it and it was a little cleaner looking than the hefe. Like the hefe there was little to no lacing in the glass but there was a medium sized head upon pouring.
The only smell to come out of this beer was apricot. Not a bad smell if you ask me. But there really was no other smell. The flavor was similar. The only thing that the wheat did for the beer was make it hazy in appearance and slightly enhance the body. The was a touch of hop bitterness but no hop flavor or yeast flavor for that matter.
The body was medium and smooth. There was a touch of sourness in the aftertaste. Overall a pretty drinkable beer but only if you like apricots.
