How do you review a revival beer style?
If I think of what a porter would be like I expect something that would be like a pre stout... large on flavour, mouthfeel and smell but perhaps without the heavy solid nature of a modern day stout.
Most of the beers that call themselves stouts do not fit with my preconceptions. Does this make them bad beers, no. Does make them true porters; who am I to say.
What do I think of this beer.
I nice drinkable beer with a bit more complexity then their Dunkles but not something I'd get hugely excited about and buy crate of to take home.
It's nice, it looks nice, and smells nice but the taste and the mouthfeel are thinner than what I'd hoped for.
