Before I start reviewing this beer I would like to point out that I am not a huge fan of the German Pilsner style, much preferring the original Czech Pilsner style beers than the many bland German reproductions.
Much of what masquerades as a Pils in Germany is a larger, and should be described as such instead of confusing drinkers by using terms which do not really apply.
While this doesn't perhaps have the grassy smell and upfront hop taste of Pilsner Urquell it does have the hop aftertaste of Gambrinus and some of the other quality Czech Pilsners.
I found it a great beer and was impressed enough to bring a crate home with me.
