Reviewed @ the Redondo Beach Brewing Co in Redondo Beach, CA. Tappeed from the Clear Tapped Handle into a 16oz Hefeweizen glass for $6.
Aroma- Has a malty start and a nice coffee AND roasted malt aroma. No Chocolate evident but making some progress on the beer!
Appearance- Received with no head again! Medium brown color body, good clarity within the body, and leaves no lace.
Flavor- Starts with a mild coffee taste and then cuts into this watered down flavor once again... Need more strength Redondo Beach! No chocolate noticed here either but does have a small hop bitterness at the finish.
Mouthfeel- Light-Medium bodied (!), High Carbonation, and leaves roastiness on the palate.
Overall Impression- If coming to this BrewPub, I would recommend this beer off the bat. Still not an awesome beer but definitely has more body and the characteristics of this one almost resemble an American Porter. Good luck in future brewing Redondo Beach!

Poured on tap at the Redondo Beach Brewpub. The beer is a dark brown; very deep, and almost opaque. It carries a minimal head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is more coffee than chocolate. The beer has light initial flavors, and overall it is a weak blend of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and barley. The beer is far too light and dry for an American Porter. Slightly sour on the finish, with a filmy residue and sour aftertaste. Somewhat disappointing.

On tap at the brewpub 5/29/2010.
Pours hazy and dark brown with some light brown head. Small amount of lacing.
Aroma is roasty and a little chocolatey but with some cheap graininess and booze.
Flavor is chocolatey and a bit burnt but overall very thin and not very good.
Light and drinkable but not much more, not a good beer.
