I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery. May the Schwarz(bier) be with you!
Appearance: near to black with a thin layer of dark tan foam. Enticing.
Smell: lightly sweet aroma with a bit of caramel/toffee character and a bit of roast. Light in intensity but pretty nice.
Taste: sweet with a definite lager character right up front. A nice roastiness then builds, which is nicely juxtaposed with a bit of toffee flavor. I quite like it indeed.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and decent creaminess.
Overall: a damn tasty schwarzbier, although the roastiness leaves enough bitterness to slow down quaffability. Still quite good.
