Agree with the previous review. Seems like a great idea but the Brett character is very young. I also don't get much from the aging, once again i think it's young. I haven't had the other, chardonnay, yet but it's an interesting pack with 2 identical beers aged differently. I would have loved to do them vertical style but i didn't.

it was fun to have this one next to the white wine edition, shared around a couple of ways. its pretty immature from a brett standpoint, which was a little bit of a let down, but we still really liked the beers, reckon the price is fair for the set, and think its a cool showcase of the barrels, even without the yeast maturity that would make these elite. this has just a little bit of a darker hue than the chardonnay barrel one, a rusty orange glow, and a little better carbonation too. the aroma is heavy wood, way more woody than the other one, and the fruitiness of the wine is robust, plum and prune, blackberry and cherry, slightly sweet, tannic too, and a bit more tangy than the white wine edition. the grain seems bigger, maybe the whole thing is just sweeter and more sturdy, but its almost like this one spent more time in the barrels. the brett is young, and thats a shame, this could be incredible with a more evolved profile, but the taste is still nice, and this is almost guaranteed to age really well. this was a fun series, a bit new still, but cool, the barrels here are awesome, i think i get more merlot than anything else, but thats speculation. this is more boldly flavored overall than the other one, but they made a nice little side by side. cool stuff!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
