Can with a clear date reading "10/31/19."
This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a fairly burnt copper transparent color. A great looking finger and a half's worth of white foamy head took it's time to dissipate. Some lace ran around the glass in a semi-messy fashion.
The aroma had some malty biscuits just a wee bit in front of some orange/citrusy hops.
The flavor leaned towards the malty sweetness. Quick grassy hop spice rolls in but in a nice smooth way. Some kind of slow malty aftertaste with an old school sort of hop spice.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied but sat just a tad under. Good and as an AIPA. Finishes with some spice coated malts.
Overall, brewer is calling it a "Winter IPA" and does say this is 'malty' so therefore I won't fault them for having an IPA as malty as it is. I do wonder if the "English IPA" style would have been more fitting for this beer.
