a pretty clean saison, not rustic or funky at all and really basic on the grain side of things, light and refreshing for the texas heat, but dont expect a ton of depth here. instead its a really tidy ferment with a french saison type strain, a little vinous and fruity, otherwise dry and a little belgian estery, simple and almost elegant. the fruit stains it a bit pink and adds a light berry character to it, almost immediately obvious as blackberry but a little generic berry thing too, not too sweet in nose or taste, and quite natural, not an extract or a syrup or anything it doesnt seem. really light body and summer flavors for sure, but a little overly simple for me, i like a more grain driven saison with something other than an immediately recognizable cultured yeast, but this is easy drinking and the berries are nice in it, no real complaints, but a brett pitch and some rye or something in here would be a lot of fun, so would a chardonnay barrel, its good now but its potential to be amazing is pretty evident as well...
