tallboy dated 5/12/21; today is 6/6
pours a hazy amber-orange body with a fluffy cream colored frothy foam head that has moderate retention, leaving behind thick webs of sudsy lacing behind as it settles to a murky patchy cap with a defined halo
aroma is a clean, grassy, floral punch of resinous pine and grapefruit with a lime citrus zing. too clean to be dank but dadgum is it potent
taste delivers on said advertisements. deep, wild citrus pine notes balanced with zest and clean grassy notes. the malt is noticeable in support, bready and caramel - near lemon cake really. all that said, this has a slight nudge towards the sweet side, but has a great counterweight in the hops that makes the whole thing very complimentary. also, killer grapefruit vibes.
mouthfeel is mid-level in body weight and carbonation level both. feels pillowy, runs smooth (if not a tad oily) with only the occasional carbo pricklings and a damn-near completely unnoticeable abv. it finishes semi-dry and has a lingering citrus + grapefruit aftertaste.
overall:
killer. getting pretty high expectations with this series after this one and El Dorado. this one is a solid call to some West Coast OG traditions with rich grapefruit and pine tones, but is balanced with a certain citrus sweetness that is hard to find honestly. they should be really proud of this one. all four categories where top tier and amplified each other to a sublime balance

Slightly hazy can poured to glass, tropical fruity nose, nice flat foam head sits atop for a bit. Flavor of candied malts and and peppery/ biting grapefruit-like citrus hops. Creamy feel, nicely bitter with a sharp bite afterwards. Overall decent beer, although nothing unfamiliar.

One word: DANK!
This beer is just a resinous, hoppy, aromatic joy. Hides the 9%ABV very well. This one gets 5s across the board!
