Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a super murky and hazy burnt-orange color with a small head of white foam. The head has a great retention, fading slowly and leaving a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a yeasty and bready smell mixed with notes of some orange and tangerine. Along with these aromas comes a decent showing of grapefruit and herb as well as a little bit of caramel and toast.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and doughy flavor that is paired with a bit of sweetness of orange and caramel. Upfront there is also flavors of a grapefruit hop and a bit of earthiness. As the taste advances the hop gets stronger, all while there is a little bit of herb that joins. Flavors of yeast and a touch of pepper and spice come on more toward the end, leaving one with a moderately malty and decently hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is low. For the style and the flavors the feel is nice and makes for a rather thick media for the flavors to be well appreciated.
Overall – Nothing super special, but a rather decent drinker overall.

Pours a juicy, caramel brown in color with hints of blonde when held up to the light. A solid amount of frothy head sits on top that dissipates to a thin layer over time. There is some lacing as you drink, although it mostly slides down the glass. Definitely gives me an unfiltered apple cider vibe. Darker than expected, not necessarily a bad thing though.
Aroma is caramel apple, candied, brown sugar malts and a floral hoppiness. Smells like a great IPA to drink during the winter holidays. Taste follows the smell quite well. Buttery, caramel malts and a touch of alcohol and spice (cinnamon, cloves?) up front with the fruitiness of the hops coming in towards the swallow and into the finish. Apple, melon, passion fruit and a hint of banana. Finishes dry and not quite crisp with lingering honey, caramel malts and citrus rind on the tongue.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with the perfect amount of chewiness and zesty carbonation -- perhaps a tad bit too zesty, but definitely not seltzery. Rather easy to drink, especially at 7% ABV.
Overall this is quite unique and tasty. In style, I would say this is closest to a New England IPA, but with a distinctly unique flavor profile. It's a bit less sour and more malt-forward than I'm used to, and the hop-profile is completely different. It definitely has the juicy quality of a standard NEIPA, but the hops are decidedly more ... exotic? Some of the flavors were hard for me to compare to a fruit, I guess I need to expand on my fruit flavors. In any case, I really enjoyed this. It offers a great amount of flavor and body. That said, I would probably only grab this during the colder months, this would be too heavy for the summer. But I was quite stoked to partake of this in December. Cheers!

Pours an effervescent & hazed amber with 2 + fingers of fluffy cream colored head. Average head retention & lacing
S: Citrus & green melon , mango as well
T: Mango, green melon, oranges up front with a little dryness. Passion fruit & a little pomelo as this warms. Finishes with green melon, passion fruit & a little dryness
MF: Medium body, moderate carbonation, decent balance
Drinks very easy, kind of middle of the pack for the style, but these won't last too long in my fridge

the New Zealand IPA (NZIPA) wave is officially here.
made with Motueka, Wakatu, and Galaxy hops, this IPA has one foot in the super-(stone)fruity NEIPA style with lime zest, and another in something closer to a Belgian styled ale with a blossom honeyed sweetness that carries notes of clove, banana, and herbal spice.
it pours a hazy rustic orange-tinged-near-amber body with a large billowing burnt-cream colored fluff head that has high retention and leaves heaps of thick sticky lacing behind as it settles to a murky cap
the aroma is sweet and herbal and floral with blossoming honey and clove surrounding sticky tropical fruits
the taste follows up on those advertisements and adds a balanced malt backbone which was muted in the aroma. it's crackery and floury with a touch of oat. the banana notes are much more prominent in the taste as well.
mouthfeel is high carbonation and medium-light body which runs somewhat watery and oil slick with occasional carbo prickles before drying up and finishing damn-near crisp with a honeyed clove aftertaste that lingers earthy and bittersweet
overall:
if you imagine a Belgian ale and a NEIPA together in a balanced medley of familiar notes in new arrangements, and that sounds awesome, then this will have you (pardon me) stoked. i'm here for the novelty and ready for the aussies and kiwis to have their own namesake IPA styles, but I'm not sure how often I'll revisit this one after I finish the 6'er.

From a can produced 6/15/21. Dark orange color with two inches of white fluffy head. Smells of citrusy hops. Light body. Tastes of crackers and citrus with some earthy notes. Mild bitterness on the finish. Nicely balanced.
