One of the best brews that 5 Seasons has ever produced, if not their all-time best! It pours a rich, opaque sable with a thick, light tan head. Aroma is malty with a smoky undertone and a hint of coffee. Flavor is rich with undertone of burnt coffee, a peaty hint, and a touch of fruity sweetness. This porter is smooth and scrumptuous. I heartily recommend it to all my fellow stout and porter lovers.

A: Black as strong coffee, tight head and nice lacing.
S: Strong background of coffee and chocolate. The toffee flavors really developed as the beer was enjoyed. Smoke presence.
T: Sweet chocoate taste that was perfect for the type of beer. Smoky flavor really came through and had a choppy sweetness in the aftertaste. Terrific.
M: Not overly thick but had some stout qualities here which were welcome.
D: A little deep for a border but all in all a sessionable porter. Nice.

A- Coffee dark with thin head
S- Hints of chocolate and coffee
T- Slightly sweet with toasted caramel/coffee flavor, some hops but not real strong
M- A little thin for my taste
D- Not bad
This beer was good overall but the mouthfeel was a bit of a letdown given everything else. The smell was inviting with definite coffee/chocolate and the taste backed it up. It just felt a little thin in the mouth.

Dark brown appearance is very nearly black, with some dark red highlights. The aroma is very strongly roasted malts with coffee flavors being quite dominant. Tastes sweeter than the smell suggests at first with a mixture of both coffee and chocolate flavors, and some fruity maltyness. Hops are pretty evident, but are of the restrained English type with a dignified bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel is pretty thick. The beer is not terribly complex, but is a solid offering among the lineup here.

This is a nice tasty, creamy porter. It is very black with a nice creamy tan head. There's Low bitterness and hopping, but nice complex malts. It's not as heavy and as rich as a stout, but manages to keep the malts big enough to avoid falling into bland porterland.
