Comes out of the tap a clear, appetizing amber with a thin white head that may be an artifact of the pour. Malty aroma has a hoppy undertone and a fruity hint. Hoppy flavor has a malty undertone and floral, apple and pear hints. Firm-bodied, strongly tingly texture leaves a hoppy, fizzy and slightly woody finish. The best of both worlds indeed!

Pint served at the brewpub.
Clear, dark amber with a thin light tan head. Leaves some lacing.
Light aroma with hops and malt in about equal proportion.
Taste starts mainly malty, turns more hoppy, finishes with a mostly hoppy, and has a surprisingly strong and long lasting hop aftertaste. The N. American hops make this a bit earthy and more bitter than an average pale ale.
Medium body with some crispness. Quite dry.
A unique and pleasing new worth seeking out. Classified by brewer as an IPL.
