Picked up a bottle from Drinks of the World.
Pours a black body with a tan head. The aroma and flavor are both a bit muted - not much is going on. Still there are mild cocoa notes also with bready, German grains paired with a smooth mouthfeel. Not a great beer, but plenty tasty and worthy of a stein.

The head seemed a bit scattered and disappeared quickly on the very dark brown color body that showed some mahogany reflects. The smell is malty, wooden and a bit caramelized. Some notes of porto. The taste was quite interesting and reminded me of the Asahi black beer. Wooden with accents of roasted coffee and some chocolate bitterness, it shows some hints of sweet fruity esters, mostly fermenting red fruits. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and soda like, and would probably benefit from a more consistent and lasting head. Low carbonation, reduces the drinkability. Maybe too much on the sweet side, lacking the robustness of a great Schwarzbier.
