Bottle to Westvleteren 12 (small) chalice
Best by: 13.04.2012
Scored this treat at a small boutique organic shop while visiting Geneva, Switzerland...talk about random.
A: Burnt light red...almost pink, but not quite. Half (off-white) fingernail head on medium pour.
S: Inviting combination of orange/lemon zest, all-spice, cloves. Subtle oak and roasted chestnuts.
T: Smattering of light citrus fruit flavors with a hint of caramel and oak. Well-rounded spice profile that reminds me of Christmas cookies and a gingerbread house.
M: Medium/full body with light carbonation.
O: A very unique and flavorful beer that puts the Christmas season in perspective. The balance of fruit, spice, and nutty-i-ness goes nicely together. Good to try!
