"This is a malty well balanced Amber ale with Chocolate and Crystal malts for sweetness and Munich malt for body. It has a modest amount of Willamette and Liberty hops for bittering and aroma. Stop by 7th Street Brewhouse in Redmond or The Lodge in Bend to have a taste."

On tap at the brewpub.
Look: medium amber body with a very good, off-white head.
Pleasing aroma features caramel malts. .
Flavor: a bit more hops than the aroma suggests, leaving this overall mildly bitter. Plenty of caramel nonetheless.

A pleasant amber sporting a distinct malt emphasis that leaves a light touch of sugar at the lip. The flavor is also infused with an unusual smoky accent somewhat akin to a rauchbier. Angus is dark amber and clear with a thin, sustained head and a fair display of lace. The aroma is faint and yeasty.
Angus MacDougals Amber has an unusual but appealing profile. Its not merely a bitter renamed as an amber, but a unique ale with a satisfying blend of sweet and smoke.

Angus MacDougals Amber was served at the Cascade Lakes Lodge in Bend. The beer was a rich amber color, and was adorned with a thin, off-white head. The nose was sweet and lightly peat smokey, with a counterng zingy citric hoppiness. The taste was rich, with a peat smoke meaty maltiness, a tangy, almost blue-cheese like transition, and a roasty, lightly astringent, lightly citric finish with some residual sweetness. The body was appropriately medium full for the flavors. Overall a nice amber with some very interesting and well done accents...setting it apart from ordinary and boring ambers.
