Perhaps it is the slight measure of wheat malt that gives this lager such a phenomenal head. And what a head it is; a big, arrogant foamy mass of white air pockets. Like a blonde Sylvester Stallone. And beneath this head sits a body of clear sunny yellow. A stunning visual array.
The head soon collapses like Mazama (local reference to collapsed volcano that now forms Crater Lake) leaving an opaque rim of unbroken lace. This beer was first brewed in honor of the brewers parents golden wedding anniversary. It has a welcome, distinguished flavor accented by Saaz hops that Ive never quite encountered before.
Dry, crisp and clean. Works uncommonly well with pizza.
