A 330ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2018. Purchased a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described on the label as a kettle sour.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A deep pinkish-marmalade hue with some haze and moderate carbonation. Produces a smallish head of frothy foam that disappears almost instantly.
S: Aroma of tart fruit with hints of raspberries, sourness, earthy yeast, mild funk and a touch of grain. Intense and slightly vinous - nice.
T: Tastes of sharp raspberries with notes of juice, sourness, earthy yeast, subtle grain and a twinge of funkiness. Very dry, with no bitterness to speak of.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a relatively thin body. A tad watery but it suits the style. Lightly astringent. Aftertaste of tart raspberries, mild earthiness and faint grain.
O: Rather nice, though with a narrow focus. Looks OK; shame about the head retention. Aroma and flavour are tart, fruity and dry. Body is alright. Drinkable and refreshing - goes down easily enough. Worth sampling.
