Shimmering gold with a light haze and a small but fine white head. Paler than most. Aroma is orange squash, lemon sherbet, and apricot with a hint of dill and freshly cut grass, and something vaguely floral. I guess that'll be the Sorachi Ace, but where's the yuzu?
Tastes mostly of marmalade and mirin, with faint suggestions of pineapple and chamomile. Yuzu and Sorachi Ace are distinctive; somehow, this beer is not. If there's anything here resembling yuzu it's possibly Korean yuja-cha, but that's a blander, less aromatic and less tangy flavor than I'd hoped. Overall the beer feels incomplete, like there are pieces missing. Its balance is alright (although it could probably stand to be a little lighter and dryer) but the zesty, fresh yuzu flavor just isn't there, and there's not enough of the Sorachi Ace flavor to pick up the slack.
