I wasn't expecting such a great beer.
It pours a dark reddish brown body with a two finger beige head. Great lacing all along
A lot of dates, figs, velvety esters, booze soaked raisins, a bit of toffee, a bit of multi cereals bread, hints of smoke, hints of chocolate, hints of honey and oak
Follow the smell with a light sweetness, a bit of bitterness and a great balance. Oloroso shows itself in here with strong subtlety.
The mouthfeel is velvety meaning not too thin, not too thick with a low carbonation.
Overall Marble shows once again its amazing quality for crafting beer especially barrel aged beer. The smell reminds me of Rochefort 10 which is much to say. The light smokiness is a bit much, one could wonder, but gives character to the ale.
Wonderful barrel aged old ale.
