Poured up a lightly hazed light copper color with a cream colored head. Good retention. Aroma is rather muted, with some light malt toastiness creeping through as well as some other earthy notes. Hopping is fairly tame, as to be expected with a Scottish ale. Well, for being low in alcohol, this ale certainly doesn't lack any character. Nicely balanced, with a bit more hop bitterness than a Scottish ale from across the pond. Malty, without being 'chewy' or overtly sweet. Carbonation is about average, maybe a little subtle. Certainly an easy drinker and a tasty one at that.
