This is Keith Kost's winning recipe from the Sharp Edge/East End Best of the Burgh Homebrewing content. Picked up a growler at East End today.
A - Color is a dark brown with faint bits of light showing throw. Minimal soapy head.
S - Starts off with a nice sweet chocolate aroma. Smoke, woodiness, and some minty, menthol phenolics round out a nice robust aroma.
T - More sweet chocolate, with roasted malts and grassy hops adding a strong dash of bitterness. Mild roasted coffee bitterness as well that lingers through the finish. Overall, a nice flavorful porter.
M - Thick and surprisingly creamy for a porter. Carbonation is moderate and makes this very drinkable.
D - Cheers to Keith and Scott for crafting an impressively flavored porter. Lots of nice sweet and bitter characteristics going on here and very manageable at 5.8%
