Pours a nice dark copper color with good head and nice lacing throughout the pint. Nice scent, very malty and thick, if not as deep as I like. Nice taste, a lot of thick maltiness to it, although I wish there had been a peaty flavor, too. Goes down fine. A nice Scotch style ale, although I prefer Scott's 80 shilling.

Got this growler thanks to my brother, who lives like 2 minutes from the brewery. Consumed at the dinner table on mother's day, among many family members.
The pour is a dark mahogany color, with a darkish khaki 1 inch head, if poured vigorously. The head recedes quickly, and leaves little to no lacing behind.
The aroma is wonderful here. Really smoky, with sweet malts, and a peaty, smoky wonderfullness. Smells great.
The taste is from the nose. Once it warms, it gets just more smoke character to it. Its really in the finish, like it's inbedded. There are some smallish background hops in there as well.
The mouthfeel is really good for the style. It isnt thick like an RIS, but it has nice body.
The Drinkability is good, but I would judge this at around 8-9%, so I'm glad that there were a few folks drinking this growler along with me...
