growler fresh from the brewery filled last weekend, served in a pint glass
A - yielded about two fingers of very light tan colored foam, loose and bubbly...fell to a thin layer with big chunky lacing. the beer is a clear, strong burnt amber color.
S - belgian yeast, clove, spice, faint earthy and grassy hops...very faint citrus (orange zest). good but pretty subdued even as it warms.
T - follows the nose, again belgian yeast right off the bat, transforming into a light crackery layer of malt before finishing with a surpringly sharp grassy hop bite. kind of a belgian version of an APA.
M - big and creamy, nicely bodied. subtle carbonation as expected from the growler fill. flavors coat the mouth quite a bit after the swallow.
D - on par with other EEB session brews, quite drinkable. not fancy outside of the hops, just hits the spot. going quite well with some crackers of St. Andre cheese while watching some football.
