Pours a tawny amber color with a bright light khaki hued head, forms fine even lacing. Aromatics give up some hints of tobacco leaf and grassy herbal hops, semi sweet dirty malts with a biscuit and caramel edge. Flavor strong assertive bittering hops in an English pale malt profile. Allows some nice bread dough biscuit malt sweetness with a bit of caramel matched with dirty herbal, earthy hops. Tobacco/tea leaf bitterness in the finish, brings a good amount of bitterness with it. Complex English inspired ale, I'm in the middle of the road with this one really. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, besides the harsh lingering earthy bitterness the alcohol is extremely well hidden but it has one of those lingering finishes. Drinkability overall is solid a couple pints versus a whole growler, I'm typically awe inspired by the session ale series this one I liked but it wasn't love not even puppy love.

Poured a murky dark copper hue with a wispy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured elements of soft cocoa a light butterscotch.

The taste consisted of a dry grassy hop, mildly sweet and musty pslemalt and a touch of green apple.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a tasty session ale.

"We brewed an English style of Pale Ale with some fantastic UK Marris Otter Malt, and decided that we'd hop it up a bit in an English kind of way, with some East Kent Golding hops. More earthy than citrusy, these hops are born to go with this malt, but since it's probably too hoppy to fit the English Pale Ale style, it's clear that there's some Yankee influence to this particular Wanker."

from a growler filled last weekend at the brewery, served in pint glasses

A - nice half inch or so of thick and frothy, light tan colored foam. sits on top of a somewhat hazy, lightly burnt amber colored beer. spotty but thickish lacing on the way down.

S - strong kick of earthy and grassy hops...struggling to pull anything else out of this one besides of toasted cracker malt and a *very* mild earthy spice and yeast.

T - hops only here, the Golding takes over and dominates the palate with grass, dirt/earth, and some pine notes. it is a pleasant display of the hop variety but unfortunately makes this a bit one sided. only a very small touch of yeast and crackers makes it through.

M - on par with other East End sessions, nice light but tight carbonation. medium to thin body.

D - just a tiny bt dissappointed with this one. too one-dimensional, though low ABV and light on the stomach and mouth, drinkability takes a hit because of the overwhelming grass and lingering aftertaste (with an odd sort of "buttered popcorn" to it).
