A-pours a dark ruby red with bubbles on the side. Hints of haze but mostly clear. The head is off white, about 2 fingers worth and thinner with lots of little bubbles. Some retention but very little and a thin lacing left.
S-the nose is not big but it is extremely good and has a solid complexity. A slightly roasted malt, almost burnt, start off with notes of chocolate, molasses and toffee. Notes of butterscotch that are quite interesting set in next. A light sweet hop presence makes an appearance in the very back
T-the taste smokey malts right up front with some light touches of caramel and toffee. Diacetyl comes in at the middle adding the creamy taste of butterscotch. The hop finish is more pronouced in the taste and comes in right in the back. An herbal tea like hop flavor with just a tiny hint of hop bitterness.
M-smooth and creamy medium body with very little carbonation. Wet and somewhat slick on the back of the throat
D-this has some solid flavors and is a tasty beer with a good creaminess. The carbonation is pretty absent and would have been nice to see.
