Had on tap at Fathead's Pittsburgh
A-pours a transparent nutty copper brown with an off white head.
S-caramel malt foundation with nutty aromas come in up front. hint of crystal malts and notes of toasted grain come in behind with a light grassy herbal hop in back.
T-following the nose with a hint of spritzer water in the back. caramel malts and nutty with a lighty citrusy juicy hop presence and moderate bitterness in the finish.
M-medium body with tons of carbonation that takes away from the flavors in finish slightly and is prickly on the throat.
D-solid session beer, nice bitterness on a great malt body and hop presence creates a nice balanced approach. carbonation detracts slightly from a still solid beer.

16oz pour into an English-style pint glass at Fatheads...
A - one finger of loose bubbly eggshell colored foam. falls to a thin film and ring in a short amount of time. the beer is a little cloudy, dark brown/chestnut in color.
S - crispy toasted malts, bread...some rye and a very faint grassy hop character
T - lightly sweet, balanced crisp crackery malts...very toasted and almost burnt nuts, light grassy hop finish.
M - light bodied, very sharp and active carbonation. crisp clean finish.
D - sessionable...very much so. good balance and always wonderful to see a quality brewery attempt a somewhat obscure style. well done.

Appearance: Ontap into a pint glass. Brown body with a light khaki colored head.
Smell: Bready malts but faint at that.
Taste: A very well balanced brew. Lightly roasted malts are semi-sweet. Theres somewhat of a hop profile to keep everything in check. The hops were more bitter than citrusy or floral (fuggles?), and did a nice job to round out the beer.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and smooth.
Drinkability: A very nice session mild, a style with not enough examples! This one is very good.

Had on cask at Piper's Pub, Pitt (14 Aug 2010).
Pours a very nice mid-deep brown with fantastic head and a bit of nice lacing. Nice semi-malty scent; light and aromatic; not overly sweet or bitter. Excellent taste, with a nice hint of roasted grains and a good sweet malt tone, although everything is wonderfully understated. Goes down wonderfully smooth and smoothly wonderful. A great example of a mild ale.
