A nice try but this one and while it tasted OK at first it lost it in the end for me.

A-Lightly hazed golden yellow with a large and fluffy bright white head. Head slowly reduced to a thin cap and left hefty lace.

S-Fresh biscuit malt, a light twang of citrus hops and oh, what is that a touch of buttered popcorn?

T-Starts off nicely with biscuit malt up front with a touch of fruity sweetness. Mild hop bitterness kicks in on the backside to to add support. A good start but in the end this one loses it for me.

M-Medium-light bodied and rather sharp at first but then, as with the smell and taste, then the odd finish kicks in and disrupts the initially enjoyable aspects.

D-Decent but needs tweaked to take out the buttered popcorn aspect. I would like to see this one revisited because I know Scott can do a better job than this.

Session Ale #49: Steam Beer has a slightly hazy yellow body and a fluffy white head. It manages to have both good retention and lacing.

The aroma is what I expect from a steam beer, with pale malts, some citrus hops and a little bit of fruitiness from the yeast.

I should start off by saying that I have had this beer a couple of times, and this current sample is a little bit different, and honestly, not as good as the other samples that I have had. Pale, cracker-like malt provides provides a little bit of sweetness and the backbone of this beer. That malt is paired with some bitter some bitter hops that have lemon and a little bit of citrus flavor. The yeast adds a little bit of generic fruit. The only problem with this beer is a slight buttery flavor which takes away from what is otherwise a good steam beer. The first few times I tried this beer this flavor was not present, but this time it is.

The crisp mouthfeel fits this lager well.

Good beer that I really like previously, but is a little bit off at the moment. I bumped the drinkability up a little bit to account for this.
